Sighthound Life Skills: Foundations Course

4 weeks | Small groups | Real-life training built specifically for greyhounds and other sighthounds

Because "sit" isn't always on the menu

£99 per dog

Sighthounds are not difficult. They are not stubborn, untrainable, or beyond help. They are just genuinely different, and they deserve training that actually understands that. Here's something sighthound owners hear a lot: "they don't really need training, do they?" And honestly, it's easy to see why people think that. Greyhounds sleep for twenty hours a day. Whippets look angelic. Lurchers are just lurking about being gorgeous. How much trouble can they really be? But here's the thing. Training isn't just about stopping bad behaviour. It's about building a dog who feels safe, confident, and connected to you. A dog who can cope with the world rather than being overwhelmed by it. And for sighthounds, that kind of foundation makes an enormous difference to their quality of life and yours. The problem is that most training advice isn't built for them. Sighthounds think differently, move differently, and learn differently. Their anatomy means some standard exercises simply don't work the way they're supposed to. They can be sensitive, easily overwhelmed, and quick to switch off if the approach isn't right. Generic training classes designed for labradors and spaniels often miss the mark entirely. This course is built around who sighthounds actually are. Not trying to fit them into a mould, just working with them properly. A bit about me and sighthounds I've been a sighthound owner for over 14 years. My first greyhound was Jazz, and she's the reason this business exists and the dog behind the name. She taught me more than any course ever could. I currently share my life with Maggie, Shine, and Millie, so when I say I understand sighthounds, I mean it in the most lived-in, sofa-hogging, zoomie-dodging way possible. This course comes from that place. Who this is for You've just brought a greyhound, whippet, lurcher, saluki, galgo, or other sighthound home and want to get things right from the start Your dog finds the world a bit much and you want to build their confidence gently You've tried generic training advice and found it doesn't quite fit your dog You want to understand your sighthound better: how they think, how they learn, and why they do what they do Your dog has little or no previous training experience What we work on Building engagement and focus in a way that actually suits your dog Loose lead walking, including when the world gets a bit too interesting Recall foundations (realistic for sighthounds, we promise) Calmness and settling at home and out and about Confidence building for dog and owner Understanding your sighthound: how they think, how they learn, and why they do what they do How it works Sessions are kept deliberately small and calm, with a maximum of 6 training stations per course. Every dog gets the space, attention, and pace they need. This is not a busy, noisy group class. It's a quiet, structured environment designed with sighthounds in mind. Training is positive and reward-based throughout, and completely fear free. No pressure, no judgment, no one-size-fits-all approach. Just practical support that works for your dog. What's included 4 structured small group sessions Positive, reward-based, fear free training A non-judgemental, supportive environment Guidance tailored specifically to sighthound breeds A clear pathway into the Sighthound Life Skills Club for continued support £99 per dog Spaces are limited. If you have more than one sighthound you'd like to bring, please book one space per dog and drop me a message so I can make sure they're stationed together.

Sighthound Life Skills Club

Ongoing training | Sighthound community | Real-life practice

£25 per month

(£10 per month extra for each additional dog from the same household)

The club is where real progress happens. Whether you've completed the Foundations Course or you're just looking for ongoing support with your sighthound, this is a space built around you and your dog, with people who genuinely understand the breed alongside you. Most sighthounds need time, repetition, and real-world practice to really embed what they've learned, and that's completely normal. Progress with a sensitive dog rarely happens in a straight line. The club gives you the space to keep building, without being left to figure it out on your own. This isn't about perfect obedience. It's about a dog who's calmer, more confident, and genuinely easier to live with, out in the real world, with a community of people who completely get it alongside you. Why this club exists I've been sharing my life with sighthounds for over 14 years, starting with Jazz, the greyhound who inspired the name of this business. I know first-hand how wonderful and how wonderfully bewildering these dogs can be. I started this club because I wanted sighthound owners to have somewhere that really gets it: the sensitivity, the quirkiness, the moments of absolute chaos, and how deeply special these dogs are. Maggie, Shine, and Millie would probably agree, if they weren't asleep. What's included as a member Fortnightly training sessions in a small, calm group environment Monthly real-life practice meetups: walks, cafes, and public spaces Monthly Zoom Q&A to talk through topics, questions, and challenges Ongoing troubleshooting and support A members WhatsApp group for advice, chat, and encouragement First access to session availability A like-minded community of sighthound owners who completely get it Prefer to drop in? Not ready to commit to a monthly membership? You're welcome to join us on a pay as you go basis at £15 per session. PAYG spaces are subject to availability after members have booked, and include access to training sessions, meetups, and the WhatsApp group. Zoom sessions are for members only. The most straightforward way to make the maths work is a membership, but we get that it isn't always the right fit straight away. Who it's for The club is open to any sighthound owner looking for ongoing support, continued training, or simply a community of people who understand their dog. No previous training experience required, we cover the basics in the club too. Founding member rate: £25 per month The club is launching soon and we're looking for our founding members. Join at launch on our founding member rate of £25 per month and secure your place in the community from the start. To register your interest, get in touch and I'll make sure you're first to hear when spaces open. Membership is £25 per month for your first dog. Additional dogs from the same household are £10 per month each.

Your role is consistency between sessions. Results come from the work you put in at home, and I'll make sure you always know exactly what that looks like. I take on a limited number of new 1-2-1 clients at a time to make sure every client gets the support they need. Returning clients If you've trained with me before, whether in a group class or a previous 1-2-1 programme, get in touch for your loyalty rate. Not sure which programme is right for you? Every new client starts with a short discovery call so we can make sure you're on the right path from day one. It's focused and practical, and gives us the chance to: Talk through what you'd most like to improve Make sure the programme is the right fit for you and your dog Outline what the next 6 or 12 weeks would look like If you'd like to find out more, get in touch and we'll take it from there.

The Puppy 1-2-1 Training Programme

The right start makes everything easier

Bringing a puppy home is one of those things that's equal parts exciting and quietly terrifying. If you'd like proper support from the start rather than muddling through on your own, this programme gives you the time, space, and guidance to get things off on the right foot. This is a 6 session programme designed for puppies aged 10 weeks to 6 or 7 months. It's tailored entirely around you and your puppy, so every session focuses on what you need most rather than following a fixed syllabus. You don't need to wait until your puppy's vaccinations are complete to get started. There's plenty to work on from the moment they arrive home, and early training really does make a difference. Sessions before your puppy is ready to venture outside take place in your home, so you can get cracking straight away. Things we commonly cover Recall foundations Loose lead walking Biting and teething Settling and calm behaviour Confidence building Everyday life skills Every puppy is different, so we focus on what matters most to you. This list is a guide, not a fixed agenda. What's included 6 x 60 minute 1-2-1 sessions, ideally completed within 9 weeks Sessions at home or out in your local area, depending on where your puppy is in their vaccination journey and what we're working on A personalised training plan built around your puppy A written session recap emailed after every session, so you always know exactly what to practise and how WhatsApp support between sessions, so you're never left guessing if something crops up Investment: £390 Or 2 monthly payments of £198, available through our instalment provider. Not sure if this is the right fit? You're very welcome to book a discovery call first. It's a short, no-pressure conversation to make sure this programme is right for you and your puppy before you commit to anything.
