Puppy Training Course
Puppy Foundations Course
7 weeks | Small groups | Real world training
The Puppy Foundations Course is a 7-week programme designed to give your puppy the practical skills they need for everyday life, while helping you feel confident and supported from the very start.

Training focuses on calm behaviour, confidence building, impulse control, appropriate socialisation, recall, loose lead walking and settling, all taught in a way that translates beyond the classroom.

Course Structure
-
Week 1. Humans only foundations session.
A theory based session without puppies, covering how dogs learn, key terminology (including marker words and recall cues), puppy development, play, enrichment and settling. This allows you to ask questions freely and feel prepared before practical training begins. -
Weeks 2–6. Practical training sessions.
Hall based sessions focused on real life skills, delivered in a calm, supportive environment with individual guidance throughout. -
Week 7. Graduation (real-world practice).
A short walk to practice learned skills, followed by calm settling in a pub environment to help bridge the gap between training and everyday life.
Small Classes, By Design
Classes are limited to a maximum of six puppies, allowing for better focus, individual support, and a calmer learning experience for both puppies and their humans.

Personalised 1-2-1 Dog Training
1-2-1 Dog Training That Fits Real Life.
1-2-1 training gives you tailored support, practical strategies, and guidance that’s built around you, your dog, and your everyday routine.
Whether you have a brand new puppy, a distracted adolescent, or a newly adopted rescue, these sessions focus on real-world skills that make life easier and more enjoyable for both of you.
Training is most effective when it’s consistent, which is why sessions are available as money-saving packages designed to help you see genuine progress rather than quick fixes.

Whether you’re starting with a brand new puppy, navigating the “teenage” phase, or settling in a rescue, these packages are designed to build practical skills, confidence, and a stronger relationship between you and your dog.

Buying a block of sessions means we can create a structured plan, build consistency between sessions, and make steady, realistic progress rather than trying to unrealistically squeeze everything into a single visit.

Puppies (Pre-Walk & Early Foundations)
Bringing a puppy home is exciting and occasionally a bit like living with a fluffy whirlwind.
1-2-1 puppy sessions are ideal for those early weeks when your puppy may not yet be ready for group classes or going out and about, but you still want to start building the right foundations from day one.
We can cover:
-
Building focus and engagement
-
Name response and early recall foundations
-
Toilet training guidance
-
Managing biting and mouthing
-
Preventing jumping up
-
Early loose lead skills (before walks begin)
-
Confidence building through positive exposure to everyday sights, sounds, and experiences
-
Safe, appropriate socialisation tailored to your puppy’s age and stage
-
Introducing equipment such as harnesses, collars, leads, and gentle handling for grooming and vet visits
-
Settling at home and creating calm, predictable routines
These sessions give you clear, practical steps so you can guide your puppy confidently through those first important weeks, setting you both up for success.
They also provide the perfect stepping stone into group training, meaning your puppy can join the Puppy Foundations Course already confident, focused, and ready to learn around other dogs.

Adolescent Dogs (The “Forgot Everything” Phase)
If your young dog suddenly seems to have selective hearing and an independent streak the size of Staffordshire… welcome to adolescence.
These sessions are perfect for dogs who’ve had some training but are now testing boundaries, getting distracted easily, or struggling with real-world situations.
We can work on:
-
Loose lead walking without arm-removal surgery
-
Reliable recall around distractions
-
Improving focus outdoors
-
Reducing jumping up and over-excitement
-
Building calm behaviour around people and dogs
-
Confidence in new environments
-
Turning “I know this at home” into “I can do this anywhere”
The goal isn’t perfection—it’s giving you practical skills to guide your dog through this phase without losing your sanity.

New Rescue Dogs (Settling In & Building Trust)
Every rescue dog comes with their own history, personality, and pace of adjustment.
1-2-1 sessions provide calm, supportive guidance so you can help your new dog settle, feel safe, and start learning how life works in their new home.
We can support you with:
-
Building trust and confidence
-
Establishing routines and structure
-
Understanding body language and communication
-
Settling in the home
-
Lead walking skills
-
Recall foundations
-
Managing anxiety, uncertainty, or overwhelm
